Wings!

Painting by Mary Guthrie

This post is a little different. It is the lyrics of a song I dedicated to the people who commit to a life of pure service. There is no trumpeting about great deeds and achievements. They are helping their people and are with their people. Their work is their full expression and this is done without consideration of material reward. Material rewards may or may not come. But the goal is being and the process to being for them is service. The painting above is the work of such a person. I am blessed to call her mum. Could be considered a self-portrait really!

Wings

Verse 1

I’d had my chances

And threw them all away.

So tired and broken, I thought

I’d give it all away

And then you found me

Broken, shattered on the ground

Your spirit lifted me

I am found

Chorus

You give me wings

You give me wings so I can fly

You give me wings

You give me wings so I can fly

Verse 2

Now I was flying (yeah)

Soaring up into the sky

The other birds said

Let’s leave them all behind

And then I looked down (and I)

Saw broken, shattered on the ground

I took my wings back down to earth

To share them all around

Chorus

You give me wings

You give me wings so I can fly

I’ll give you wings

I’ll give you wings so you can fly

Hope you are getting to know yourself better and how YOU really want to express this – as fully as possible. Not for you, but for others. Do this and I suspect you will be taken care of  anyway.
